Rosario de Tattarin

This image of Nuestra Señora del Santisimo Rosario of Tattarin is one of the unique images of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary in the country. This image of Our Lady of the Rosary is somehow patterned to the famed image of Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii venerated in Italy where the Madonna and Child were handing over rosaries to St. Dominic de Guzman, the founder of the Dominican Order, and St. Catherine of Siena, the famed Mystic and the only lay Doctor of the Church.

In this image, the Blessed Mother and the Child Jesus is handing over rosaries to St. Dominic and St. Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Franciscan Order and a good friend of St. Dominic. This depiction might be unsual, yet it can be seen as a memorial of the friendship of two religious Orders that were set to take care of souls that needed much attention and unified with their devotion to the Blessed Mother.
